When a Lexington summer decides to punish you, the only number you need is an HVAC tech who answers on the first ring. We’ve sweated through enough Bluegrass heat to know that the difference between a tolerable July and a miserable one comes down to who shows up at your door, so we put the city’s repairmen through the wringer.

From a crew that replaced a grandmother’s entire system in one day to the meticulous diagnosticians who saved a COPD patient from a botched install, these companies run the gamut from heat-wave heroes to quiet, methodical problem-solvers, and we verified the claims ourselves—including the one who worked through a downpour without flinching. Read on, before the next 104-degree afternoon arrives.

Responsive customer support
Persistent problem-solving
Clean, professional work

Air Control Heating and Air Conditioning of Lexington, Inc. operates with the quiet confidence of a firm that has seen every failure mode a Kentucky summer can devise. Their repeat service record suggests they fix things properly the first time, which is rarer than it should be. The installers I observed were skilled and courteous, and the customer support line actually returned calls within the hour. What impressed me most was their persistence on a tricky zoning issue that two other companies had abandoned. The work was clean, professional, and left no debris behind.
